Accessibility
How we make livedigest.news usable for every reader, the standard we aim for, what we have done, what still falls short, and how to tell us.
A site for every reader
We want everyone to be able to read LiveDigest, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done
The site is built so that:
Structure
Every page has one main heading and an ordered outline of section headings, so a screen reader can move from part to part.
Keyboard
Links, buttons, the menu, the share options and every form work with the keyboard alone, and Escape closes the menu, the dialogs and the share options.
Images
Photographs carry text alternatives; icons that only decorate are hidden from screen readers.
Motion
Animations are short and quiet, and they stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
Zoom
Pages follow the width of your window: as you zoom in, they move to the tablet and then the mobile layout.
What we are still improving
We have checked the site ourselves, with the keyboard and current browsers, but it has not yet had an independent audit, so some parts may still fall short.
When you find one, please tell us: every report helps us fix it.
Tell us what gets in your way
If something on the site is hard to use, write to us through the feedback form, or by e-mail at main@livedigest.news. Tell us the page and what happened, and we will work on a fix.
